Anchor Brewing set up shop on the west coast and started brewing a beer with lager yeast; BUT they didn't have the controls to really make a lager and were fermenting at warmer ale temperatures. The Steam Beer was born! Simple in its formula, it relies on fruity and woodsy Northern Brewer hops all the way and brews up one awesome amber lager/ale hybrid.

Recommended yeast: Wyeast 2112 California Lager or Mangrove Jack California Lager dry yeast
