Black Hole Stout
This is not a mild stout in any way. After enjoying The Abyss from Deschutes I set about trying to make something similar and this is the result. A thick black stout with intense roastiness balanced with the sweet compound from some dried licorice root and given a secondary on oak cubes and cherry bark that have been soaked in whisky. Intensity factor 10. Not the ABV of the Abysss but plenty to make you smile.
Recommended yeast: Wyeast 1728 Scottish Ale or Mangrove Jack New World Strong
